Fear the LORD your God.

Hey Skyscraper! Yes, you.  The one who shines brighter them all in your unique way. The one who houses the glorious light of God.  The one who carries others in prayer and leads the lost to hunger after righteousness. You whose life magnifies the LORD. My Beautiful Skyscraper, who lives a life in deep reverence…this is who you are, this is whom you were created to be my beloved.  Nevermind what it looks like now but we can certainly be whom God has created us to be but the key, the absolute beginning is to honour God in every aspects of our lives.

The fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom and sadly, myself included,  I see that God is not glorified in every area of my life and the answer to the “why?” that may be in your heart is this – as I continue to grow I realised that unlike when I was just saved,  I become more lenient to certain things that were of absolute importance at one time. Yes, there is grace but we cannot worship God without honouring who He is in every area of our lives. Do not dethrone God and what His word says for the sake of the world, Skyscraper. We say we love Him, then sin against Him knowingly with no true repentance, no sorrow for the consequences of these sins, and quickly conclude in our hearts that “I am forgiven.”.

Skyscraper, you were not made to conform to the standards of this world. No, you are a different kind. Do you hear me?  With all that you are,  make the effort to live a life that truly honours God, not this commercialised version of Christianity that has so sadly watered down God’s word for the sake of the world.

We need to come to an understanding of the importance of God leading us in all things. Especially in these last days, where every line is blurred and morality is constantly being disfigured. The first point of this is fearing the LORD your God, understanding who He is within our hearts. I think so many of us have lost sight of just who God is?  If you’re reading your Bible, and you see the God I see beloved,  you will by all means make every effort to submit your flesh to the Holy Spirit through God’s Word, prayer, servanthood and being accountable to someone in your walk (a leader) by being discipled and discipling others. These are the ingredients for conquering the world for Jesus.

We shouldn’t be approaching all that concerns God, and His position in our lives as nonchalant as we have. We must repent. We cannot abuse the grace of God as though Christ has not delivered us from the yoke of the world! No, we must grow in the LORD, grow in awe of Him,  in the desire to know Him more each day & stop being a double-minded and rebellious people who justify our sins on the crutch of our humanity.

To grow in the LORD is to grow in understanding who God is & realising how much more you actually need Him than you thought – not a know-it-all who can do as they please and God will just have to deal with your self-righteous decision later. No. If you say you love God,  then love Him enough to live by His Word which is for you, to empower you,  to sustain you, to correct and redirect you…

“Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this,  what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and  hurrying it along.” – 2 Peter 3:11 (NLT)

God is not man & He was not confused when He made us human with our own will. I imagine He did it that we may see the incredible resilient beings we can be if we put our minds to it and decided to put off the destructive old man and his ways and put on Christ.

You see, God made this plan a time and a time before you or I were even formed and His plan was to empower us to conquer & that unique and powerful absolute plan my friend is Jesus Christ. Is Christ alive in you?  This is how you know who you are. This is how you are empowered to conquer the things of the world – the only way is if Christ is alive in you! Moulding you through the Holy Spirit to be His representative in the earth.

Remember who the LORD your God is! He is the Creator of the an ever-expanding, ever-evolving universe. He is powerful beyond measure, He is just and His majesty, holiness, beauty and glory we cannot even bear to witness our own eyes. It is our new covenant through Christ that covers us with grace that we may enter into His presence as the wretched beings we are,  this grace is what keeps us from falling dead in His presence!

We may be in the image and likeness of God but let us not confuse who we are with who He is because that is a dangerous place to be in.

He is LORD!  He reigns from everlasting to everlasting. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of all wisdom.

I have touched on this on a recent post but again I must warn you about familiarity.

There’s a difference between relationship and familiarity. Familiarity breeds disobedience. Familiarity sears your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Familiarity will kill your spiritual life and you’ll find yourself falling further from grace into the snare of sin. Do not allow that!

Skyscraper, enthrone God in your heart always remembering who He is.  Can I let you in on a secret about our Father?  He is LORD with or without your honour BUT it will serve you to give honour where honour is due for the sake of your life and those whom God has chosen you to impact with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“In view of all this make every effort to respond to God’s promises.  Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

The more you grow like this,  the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But those who fail to develop in this way are short sighted or blind, forgeting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.” – 2 Peter 5-9 (NLT)

I love you, but always know that the love of Jesus is infinitely more!

Until next time, Skyscraper! 😘💛 Grace and peace to you!

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Relationship is what God seeks but we must be conscious not to become familiar. More so, grace calls us to a higher standard of living and this same grace gives us the ability to live right.
